Rome extra

I've already shared a selection of my own Rome pictures with you, but I thought you might also like to see some photos by Karolien.

(yes, that's me trying to open a bottle of wine with a pencil)

Forum Romanum.

Funniest and nicest waiter ever.

Andrei, Nick, Karolien and I.

Paolo, the manager of the hostel we were staying in. I've seldomly met anyone as friendly as him.

Friends of Nick we met on the airport.

Airplane decadence.

Rome day 2

Wednesday.

Piazza del Popolo.

Spanish stairs.

Villa Medici.

Andrei. We met him the day before at the Fontana di Trevi when a flower seller thought/wanted that he was part of our group and tried to make him buy flowers for me and Karolien. When the flower guy had left, we had a little chat with Andrei (a economics student from Moscow) and decided to meet up with him for lunch on Wednesday and Thursday. Nick liked him because they had some philosophy chats, Karolien and I just fell totally in love. ;)

Vatican.

Nick eating chicken in the hallway.
The three of us in the rather bizarre old elevator in our hostel.

Rome day 1

After a shaking flight (we had quite some turbulence and Nick was playing with my seatbelt without realising he actually opened it - resulted in me making some eh, interesting moves towards the ceiling), my travelling partners (Nick and Karolien) and I arrived in Rome Ciampino airport on Monday evening. It was the start of three eventful days.

Thursday.

Rome university.

Nick's dream body.

Nick and Karolien in front of the Colloseum.

Funny Roman guys who pretended to cut off Nick's masculin parts with their sword.

Me trying to be as tall as Karo.
Nick had to make some confessions.

Circus Maximus.

Restaurant where they tried to make us pay the same tip twice.

Rome by night.

Monument for Vittorio Emmanuele.

Intellectual Nick.

Fashion Party.

Pantheon.

Fontana di Trevi, where we met Andrei (more about him in the next two posts)

The Travelling Sheep listening to The Rakes.

Bad wine, fun night.
