Pukkelpop day 3

Day 3, and another list of must-sees to go - even though my feet hurt like hell.

* Lykke Li (nice gig, but not quite as good as I expected)

* The Whip: no pictures, because I was too busy dancing till my poor feet were bleeding and being the subject of a photographer myself (despite the early hour this gig was a great party)

* Late of the Pier (wasn't such a big fan in advance - contrary to some of the girls I was hanging out with at the festival - but they managed to convince and convert me, even though I didn't see the whole gig)




* The National (the reason why I couldn't see all of Late of the Pier, and a very good reason it was - even if they only played Fake Empire it would've been worth it)




* Manic Street Preachers (another personal highlight; this band deserves to be and stay on top + I loved Nicky's microphone!)





* Bloc Party (a bit of a disappointement, I thought they would've been more energetic)




* Sigur Rós (best gig of the festival, this was everything and more - I was crying like a baby)

Pukkelpop day 2

After drinking some tomato soup on a nice terrace near the camping and writing some of my reviews for the other day's gigs, I was ready for day 2.

* Those Dancing Days (too much of an act, pretty poor musically)

* Pete and the Pirates (now they are a band that can make me dance that early in the day)

* Das Pop (I liked them better when I saw them a couple of years ago, still one of the better Belgian bands)

* The Do (okay)

* Arsenal (too bad they didn't play Either, but they did play Lotuk, Longee and Estupendo and that's more than enough to make my day)


* a part of Los Campesinos (okay)

* Foals (very tight set, it would've been better if the audience - me and my friends excluded, that is - wasn't acting that boring)


* Does It Offend You, Yeah? (very tight as well, and they díd have the audience on their side)

* The Futureheads (I didn't know in advance if I was going to see them or Robyn, but I'm glad I picked The Futureheads - it was a party, an explosion!)


* Blood Red Shoes: my pictures suck, I was standing too far from the stage (so good that me and my friends decided to create a mini moshpit)

* Tokyo Police Club (okay)

* The Rascals (Miles Kane and his band - they're no Arctic Monkeys, they're no Last Shadow Puppets, but they are pretty good anyway)

Pukkelpop day 1

All right, I'm back from Paris and it's time to post a couple of the shitload of pictures I've been taking during the past week.

DAY 1 AT PUKKELPOP

* Kaizers Orchestra: no pictures (energetic)

* Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong (very good gig, very promising band)



* small part of Amy MacDonald: no pictures (gig was meh)

* The Cribs (not as good as last year, unfortunately)

* Dirty Pretty Things (oh Carlos, I love you)

* British Sea Power (one of the better gigs of the festival, way better than I expected)

* Editors: just a picture of the big screen, I wasn't standing close enough for proper pictures :( (fifth time I saw them, fifth time I loved them to bits)

* Roisin Murphy (excellent singer and show lady)

* The Killers: my sister took the pictures (it's her fave band)and they're on her camera, so no goodies for you guys (gig wasn't bad, not as good as last year at Werchter though; maybe it was just a bit strange to pick them as the headliner)
